If you're a fire services engineer in Brisbane right now, you already know the market is moving. New hotels, mixed-use masterplans, high-rise residential, Olympic Villages, it's all happening. The question is whether the consultancy you're at is giving you the projects, the resources, and the recognition to actually grow with it.

If the honest answer is no, keep reading.

Three reasons this is worth your time:

  • You'll lead fire services end-to-end on real projects: hotels, high-rise residential, large-scale mixed-use masterplans, with directors who back your calls
  • A dedicated team handles the modelling and documentation, which means your time goes on the engineering and the client work
  • The Brisbane office is small and in it's early stages, but the workload and the calibre of projects will surprise you

The company

This is a privately owned building services consultancy, founded just over a decade ago and now 100+ staff across three offices. They've built a strong reputation across hospitality, commercial, residential, government and mixed-use sectors. Think large-scale masterplans, 80-storey build-to-rent towers, and high-rise hotels.

The Brisbane office is small but punching well above its weight. Two directors who are technically sharp, hands-on, and genuinely invested in the people around them.

They have young families. They understand what balance actually means. And they've built a culture around trust rather than surveillance.

Working from home isn't something they reluctantly allow if you've a doctors appointment. It's just how they operate.

What you'll be doing

You'll lead fire services design and delivery across a varied mix of project types. Day to day that means owning designs from concept through to construction, liaising directly with clients, and working through complex coordination challenges across multi-discipline teams.

The existing team handles the modelling and calcs, your job is to think, engage, and deliver.

And if you want to bring others along with you — there's room to do that too.

What you'll need

  • Strong experience across wet and dry fire systems, from a consultancy or design-focused contracting background
  • Confidence applying Australian fire standards on complex, multi-discipline projects
  • RPEQ or QVCC accreditation, or actively working toward it

What you'll get

  • $160k to $170k+ super, negotiable for the right person
  • Genuine flexibility — work from home when it suits, no questions asked
  • Directors who invest in your progression, not just your output
  • Projects worth putting your name on, in a city that's only getting busier
